Healthdirect Australia recently released its 2022 — 2023 Annual Report. In FY23, we saw 85 million interactions with our virtual health services, representing a significant 49 per cent increase from pre-pandemic levels. The rise in demand is a reflection of the trust consumers place in our information and advice, their willingness to use virtual and digital services, and seamless connection to the right care at the right time.
As we wrap up 2023, we take a moment to reflect on the crucial role Healthdirect Australia has played throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, providing Australians with trusted information and advice. We're looking forward to a future in which capabilities and digital infrastructure built during the pandemic are repurposed, strengthened and improved to contribute to building a better health system for all.
We are pleased to announce an enhancement to our healthdirect Video Call service — the introduction of live captioning. This innovation is a game-changer for telehealth appointments, significantly improving the experience for hearing-impaired patients.
Our Partner in Focus interview is with David Lloyd, CEO of the Heart Foundation of Australia, who sheds light on the Foundation’s impactful work and contributions to the health sector. This edition also features innovation articles from our valued Information Partners: Emerge Australia, Women's Health Victoria, Lung Foundation Australia and COPE.
