Anyone in Australia who reaches out to 1800RESPECT — the national domestic, family, and sexual violence counselling, information and support service — can now speak face-to-face with a qualified counsellor via a newly-launched video call service, as well as via the existing call, text and online chat service.
Users simply need to click the video call button on the 1800RESPECT web page from a compatible mobile or web browser and follow the prompts to connect to a counsellor.
The video call service channel is available 9am-5pm Monday to Friday (excluding national public holidays) with no appointment needed.

1800RESPECT can arrange for an interpreter to join the video call via audio if the service user is more comfortable speaking in a language other than English.
This expansion of the 1800RESPECT service helps empower people affected by domestic, family and sexual violence to seek support via the medium that best suits their needs.
1800RESPECT’s call, text and online chat services continue to be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
