Families of children with cerebral palsy often describe the early years after diagnosis as overwhelming; a time marked by complex information, fragmented services and uncertainty about where to turn next. Cerebral Palsy Alliance’s new MyCP Navigator Tool was developed to address these challenges, providing families with clearer pathways to information, services and support when they need it most.
The idea for MyCP Navigator emerged from extensive consultation with people with cerebral palsy, families and clinicians, who consistently highlighted the same problem — while supports exist, they are difficult to navigate. Families were spending valuable time searching across multiple systems, repeating their story and trying to interpret technical language, often during periods of emotional stress.
The MyCP Navigator Tool brings this information together in one place. Designed with and for people with cerebral palsy and similar conditions, the digital tool guides users through tailored questions and then directs them to relevant supports, services and resources based on individual needs, life stage and circumstances. Rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, MyCP Navigator adapts as peoples’ needs change over time.

The MyCP Navigator Tool from Cerebral Palsy Alliance helps families quickly access information, services, and support.
Early feedback suggests the tool is already making a meaningful difference. Families report feeling more confident, less overwhelmed and better equipped to take next steps. Internal learnings also indicate that users value the clarity of information and the reassurance that they are not missing critical supports during key transition points.
For Michelle, whose daughter Sienna has cerebral palsy, MyCP Navigator has helped reduce the emotional load that often comes with managing care.
After Sienna’s diagnosis, I felt like I was constantly Googling and second-guessing myself,” Michelle said. “The Navigator made things feel manageable. It showed us what supports were available and helped us understand what to focus on next.”
Cerebral Palsy Alliance plans to continue refining the MyCP Navigator Tool based on user feedback, ensuring it remains practical, accessible and responsive. By making complex systems easier to navigate, the innovation gives families greater confidence that the right information and supports are within reach.
