This Developer and Integration Hub is designed to streamline the process of integration, while maintaining high conformance to required specifications.
The process for integrating with the NHSD involves eight main steps with some able to be managed autonomously. The diagram below explains the roles of the integrator and the NHSD team in the integration process.

The NHSD Integration process
Step 1: Integrator submits connection request for Integrator Test Environment.
Step 2: Confirm automated data sharing method and complete the Production Environment Registration form.
Step 3: Execute applicable NHSD Agreement.
Step 4: Complete the data harmonisation process between Integrator and NHSD for 2-way data sharing.
Step 5: Integrator builds API and conducts internal testing.
Step 6: NHSD reviews test results and provides any relevant feedback.
Step 7: Once testing has successfully passed, NHSD provides Notice of Connection and access provisioning for Production environment.
Step 8: Integrator connects API to NHSD Production Environment and provides conformance demonstration of final product.
The entire process typically takes around three months, depending on availability of development resources and the number of integrators being onboarded simultaneously.
